Jon Boogz was born in Philadelphia but honed his Popping skills in Miami, FL. Jon has been popping for over 15 years and has become an internationally known artist. He has been privileged to work with many of the pioneers of the craft and is one of the most influential poppers of his generation. He recently served as a Creative Consultant and model for the critically acclaimed Fall/Winter 2015 Rag & Bone campaign. The campaign featured the ballet legend, Mikhail Baryshnikov, along with the world famous Memphis jooker, Lil' Buck. He is one of the only poppers from Miami to have been invited to compete amongst the world's best and he has also established himself in the entertainment industry . Jon has worked with Latin icon Gloria Estefan, the world famous Groovaloos (superstars of dance champions 2009), and LXD. He has been featured on a number of hit TV shows while performing with Gloria Estefan, such as The View, the Rosie Show, and Jay Leno. He was also a featured dancer in the movie Step Up 4 Revolution. You may have also seen him on this past season of SYTYCD with his company Control Freakz. They brought a new contemporary form of Popping to the show that has the company's name buzzing internationally. Jon is known for pushing the boundaries of Popping through his modern and artistic approach . He continues to push the limits of his craft and popping choreography while carrying the Miami street dance legacy along with him. Jon is currently dancing in the world famous MJ ONE Cirque Du Soleil show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas & he continues to build his company Control Freakz.
